Women and Minorities Woefully Underrepresented Among Legaltech Founders, Study Finds

A 1st-of-its kind research of legaltech organizations and their founders finds that women of all ages and individuals of color are significantly underrepresented among legaltech founders, accounting for just 13.6 per cent and 26.5 per cent respectively. Black and Latinx founders account for a staggeringly minimal proportion of legaltech business owners, at just 2.3 per cent and 3.1 per cent respectively, the research claims.

The research was done by Kristen Sonday, cofounder and COO of legaltech startup Paladin, a pro bono administration platform. She undertook it for the reason that she was curious about a paradox that exists in law: There is considerably a lot more technology staying developed than ever prior to, nonetheless somehow, the entry-to-justice gap in America retains widening.
